Last Frontier Alaskan Adventures evolved out of Rick Minter's experiences in Alaska while working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. During these years he assisted on wildlife studies with bears, seals, whales, tundra swans, and caribou. He also worked as a commercial salmon and halibut fisherman on Kodiak Island, which is home to the largest bears in the world.
Rick was responsible for filming the amazing documentary, Real Wild Alaskan Adventures. The documentary, which was filmed over six months involved travelling and working in some of the most remote places in the state of Alaska, including the first ever surfing of the Pribilof Islands.
The range of tours offered by Last Frontier Alaskan Adventures, allow Rick to share with you his passion for this unique part of the world. In keeping with the adventurous spirit that Alaska inspires, our tours are genuine ecotourism experiences. Many areas we visit allocate special permits, which require our group size not to exceed a maximum of 10 people.
This ensures you will have a safe, close encounter with the wildlife, along with receiving personal attention. We are also accredited as being Alaska Certified Experts (ACE) through the Alaska Travel Industry Association.
Our tours are led by Rick, along with other local Alaskan guides, who respect and understand this great land, its people and its wildlife. The itineraries cater for people who have a sence of adventure and want to experience the real Alaska. Since 2002, we have escorted guests ranging from 12-72 years of age.
If you have a desire to feel more alive than you ever thought possible I invite you to join us on a Last Frontier Alaskan Adventure.
Our Team:
Rick Minter Founder & Managing Director
Rick has been involved in outdoor recreational guiding and adventure travel for over 25 years. He worked as a white water rafting guide in Australia, New Zealand & Alaska safely guiding participants on rivers such as the Nymboida, Shotover, Kawarau & Nenana. He was also a keen mountaineer and has climbed & travelled expensively in New Zealand, Nepal and Asia.
Rick worked many winter seasons as a snowboard instructor in Australia and Canada and it was during his time in Canada he decided to head north to Alaska. That was over 18 years ago and his love of Alaska is still as strong today. He is married with two young children and was fortunate enough to be able to have them travel to Alaska with him in 2007.
When Rick is not leading tours to Alaska he is the Managing Director of PNF Learning & Development. This company provides training programs for corporations to help improve communication skills, team cohesion and productivity. As part of an incentive program many of the corporate clients that PNF have worked with travel to Alaska on one of our adventures.
In his spare time he enjoys nothing more than sea kayaking along the beaches of the NSW Central Coast.

Glenn (Hakka) Hartley
Glenn is our kayak instructor and leading guide. He has been competing in Ironman Triathlon events and Adventure Racing for over six years. Glenn runs a company called Xterra Adventures that specializes in kayak and mountain bike tours in Australia and Fiji.
Prior to guests travelling to Alaska with us Glenn can provide an introductory kayak lesson so you will feel confident when you are paddling amongst humpback whales! He can also help you with advice on buying a kayak when you return from Alaska.

Peter Pearce
Peter has trekked all over the world. In 2006 he completed the lands end walk (1,875km) to raise funds for breast cancer. He has walked the Kokoda trail twice and been to Everest base camp. He was awarded Rotarys highest honor, 'service above self award' and he also was part of the Olympic Games Torch Relay in 2000.
